  • In high school, Marcus lettered in football, basketball, and track. As a senior, he was the team captain in all three sports.
  • As a junior in high school, Marcus was the football Offensive Player of the Year, and he was basketball's Mr. Defense. He was named an All-State player by AP, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and the Washington Prep Report. He was also named the Washington 4A Player of the Year by TNT, and was named to the the Seattle PI and Seattle Times All-League, All-Area, and All-State teams.
  • Since he's from Tacoma and graduated from the Washington State, Trufant is a huge hit with Seattle fans
  • Isaiah Trufant, Marcus' younger brother, is a defensive back for the Arizona Rattlers, a team in the Arena Football League

Player Facts:
  • At Washington, Trufant was named a Pac-10 All-Freshman in 1999. He was also an honorable mention All-Pac in 2001 and a first-team All-Pac in 2002.
  • In 2002, Marcus was named a second-team AP All-American. Marcus played in the 2002 Rose Bowl. Amazingly, Marcus didn't allow a single touchdown against him in his last two years at Washington State.
  • Pro Football Weekly chose Marcus as the 2003 All-Rookie
  • Marcus intercepted seven passes in the 2007 season (a career high), returning one for an 84-yard touchdown. He deflected 15 passes, and made 85 tackles. He was a 2007 Pro Bowl Selection.
  • Marcus renewed his contract with a six-year, $50.2 million deal with the Seahawks (with a $10 million signing bonus) in March 2008

Charities:
  • Marcus established the Trufant Family Foundation. Its mission is to "make dreams come true for the youth and their family by giving financial assistance and making a personal connection with individuals and to programs that provide service to people who are most in need." It sustains its own programs, some of which focus on scholarships, financial aid, child care centers, and family centers.
